Day 7 of the I Am Feeling Good Challenge - Practice Resting and Napping

On Day 7 of the I Am Feeling Good Challenge, I invite you to practice rest and consider napping regularly. This post won’t be too long because I have a reference that will provide all the information needed on the benefits of rest and why taking a nap is all the rage for adults these days.

The information comes from the book, Rest is Resistance: A Manifesto by Tricia Hersey, Founder of The Nap Ministry. Hersey provides guidance to understand why it is your birth right to live a life of ease, joy and happiness. She further prescribes ridding yourself of the grind culture that we are subjected to or have chosen in the United States. Hersey defines and clarifies what rest is and the multiple ways in which to practice and celebrate your joy and peace once you’ve opened yourself up to all of its benefits. It’s my opinion that Hersey hands down “the law” and gives the kindest of warnings that you must “rest to save your life!”

Take my word on this, I Am Personally Feeling Good daily by renewing myself with rest and naps - I’m a witness and practioner of this natural and most peaceful way of living.

Day 7 Affirmation -

"Allowing myself the gift of rest replenishes my mind, rejuvenates my body, and restores my soul, leading to a healthier, happier, and more productive life."

Quotes of the Day -

“Rest in its simplest form, becomes an act of resistance and a reclaiming of power because it asserts our most basic humanity. We are enough.” - Tricia Hersey, from Rest is Resistance: A Manifesto

********

“Your body is a site of liberation. It doesn’t belong to capitalism. Love your body. Rest your body. Move your body. Hold your body.” - Tricia Hersey, from Rest is Resistance: A Manifesto

With three days left in this 10 day challenge, I wish you a restful day and as alway, I hope you are feeling good and are creating great days.

Be well,

- Kathy
